Custom course creation

Custom courses can be designed for whatever subject you are interested in. A course typically takes 2 to 3 weeks for a half day duration. A test run is required to ensure it works well.

Why this training?

This training is designed to be more effective based on these 3 key reasons:

Have you ever been presented with a subject and said to yourself, “I already knew that.” Then, when you try to implement the new ideas, it all goes wrong, and you realise you’re not as skilled as you thought. This is how many people fall into the trap detailed by Dunning–Kruger. People’s capacity to overestimate their own ability is well proven. The training is designed to show you how much you really know by using theory combined with hands-on exercises.

Hands on

The level of insight in these courses will be above many that are available in the industry. Their contents reflect real-world experience rather than just repeating theory. Taking the example of the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) course, this includes a custom way of deploying OKRs that is business-proven. It has been run with hundreds of different people and used to upskill whole organisations. As more experience has been gained, the course has been updated to reflect the latest learning.

Real world experience

Easy to understand

The courses are designed to make difficult subjects easy to understand. These are highly accessible, which is especially important when complex subjects are tackled.

FAQ

Q. How is the training run?

The training can be run either remotely or on-site.

Q. Is in-person training better than remote?

No. In-person and remote training are equal. For many years now these courses have been successfully run remotely. The typical benefits of in-person are the conversations afterwards, where a relaxed environment can give space for you to discuss your own situation.

Q. How far can you travel for in-person training?

London can be covered with minimal travel expenses. For anywhere else please reach out for discussion.

Q. How many people can attend?

Each training course has a recommended number of people in the course details. For remote training it is especially important that numbers are not too high so everyone gets a better opportunity to explore and ask questions.

Q. Can I roll out a training course to many people in my organisation?

Yes. This would require a person to co-ordinate from your side. This is very typical when wanting to skill up large numbers of people. For large organisations there is an option to buy the course and be trained to run it yourself.

Q. Can you tailor courses for my organisation?

Yes. Examples that are more closely related to your own industry can be built in. This customisation would need a contact from your side to help validate the examples. There may be some additional cost if the course requires significant rework.

Q. Can I try out a course for free for my organisation?

Negotiable. A few people can attend at a course at lower cost to ensure that it is what they want. At this point you may wish to tailor the course as per the question above. Please reach out to discuss.

Q. Can I bundle together a number of smaller courses into a day?

Yes you can. Please be aware that doing too many in a row may impact how much people learn, so it is important that there are breaks between them.

Q. How are courses billed?

The courses are charged at an hourly rate. A 1 day course will be charged at 8 hours and a half day 4.
